FAQ’s

1) What are the short and long-term effects of Constitutional Cosmetic Acupuncture?

Following recommendations, you can expect to look progressively more rested, seeing a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, evening of skin tone, and less sagging among other benefits already mentioned.  As the treatments progress, the positive benefits will hold more and more for a longer time. By the end of the series, you will look and feel very well with a natural glow.

2) At what age do you recommend this procedure?

There are benefits to people from as young as early 20’s and up. For people aged 22-30, these treatments are largely preventative, helping to build collagen reservoirs in the face, while improving the early on-set signs of aging. For individuals who are between 30-40, still preventative but as collagen levels have dropped and skin takes longer to renew, treatments will encourage collagen production and circulation to the face, strengthen the immune system and preserving energy (this service works best in this age range). For individuals 40-50+, Constitutional Cosmetic Acupuncture  promotes blood and qi production, boosts whole body energy, and helps to distribute vital energy to the face. Diet and possible herbal remedies may be recommended to replenish depleted reserves, especially in women post-menopause.

3) How many sessions do I need?

Most people will require 10-15 sessions for those who are generally healthy. 20-24  sessions are recommended for individuals with more prominent sagging or individuals with severe health issues. This will be assessed on a case by case basis.

4) How often do I need treatments?

2 times per week ideally for the duration of the series (about 5 weeks). Maintenance treatments are recommended after these sessions and vary depending on the case. 1 time per month is recommended to preserve the effects of the treatment for longer (twice per month if sagging was is prominent). Typically for younger, healthier skin, maintenance treatments can be spread out to about once every 3 months.

5) How long is the treatment?

Your first appointment is 90 mins long and involves a full TCM intake, assessment and acupuncture treatment. Then we will initiate the Constitutional Cosmetic Acupuncture in the follow up treatments which run about 1 hr.

6) What can I do to support my own healthy aging process?

Following the recommended lifestyle changes (through diet, nutrition, exercise etc) that you will be given.

7) What kind of investment will I be making for this procedure?

After an Initial comprehensive consultation and treatment, individual sessions are $115. For the best results, Constitutional Cosmetic Acupuncture requires a commitment to frequent treatments (especially in the beginning) with a minimum of 10 sessions recommended for first time patients.

8) Is this procedure just for women?

No, both men and women enjoy the benefits of this natural facial renewal treatment.
